How the math works
Load is measured against the wax
Fragrance load is measured against the wax, not the whole candle — the same way wax suppliers state their maximum loads and IFRA certificates list their safe-use limits. A 10% load means the oil weighs 10% of the wax it goes into.
Fill weight or wax weight?
The toggle above the weight field is about which number you already know. Fill weight is everything inside the finished candle — wax and oil together, what your jar holds — and the calculator carves it into the two so the vessel fills exactly (at 10%, wax = fill ÷ 1.10, oil is the rest). Wax weight is the wax alone, measured at the melting pot, and the oil is added on top of it. Same rule, entered from opposite ends.
Fill weight: 210 g at 10% = 190.9 g wax + 19.1 g oil (jar holds 210 g)

Two habits keep the numbers honest
Always weigh your oil — it is denser than melted wax, so spoons and cups mislead — and treat the lower of your wax's maximum load and the oil's IFRA Category 12 limit as your real ceiling.
